In 2008 NICG brought more than 30 fashion designers and companies from Shenzhen to the UK for a major fashion show in a prestigious London hotel. NICG drew together high-level executives of London’s top luxury companies and department stores, as well as leading retailers and designers in the UK fashion industry. The event was directed by the show director of London Fashion Week and was staged to coincide with London Fashion Week. In 2009, NICG developed the exchange between the fashion industries in China and the UK; this created a much larger event with an integrated show within the London Fashion Week. For the fashion industries in both countries this brought international recognition of China’s vast potential and market, as well as opportunities for cooperation. NICG is working with industry leaders to support even more ambitious initiatives to develop the Shenzhen fashion industry in China and UK.
