During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, NICG supported and advised the London Development Agency to set up a prestigious location to provide a base for high profile hospitality. The result was a location near Behai in Beijing that was called “London House” with an objective to provide a focal point to link the Beijing 2008 with the London 2012 Olympics. In this way London was able to provide a forum in order to draw on Beijing’s experience of success and attract expertise and inward investment into London. In support of the LDA, NICG organised two major high-profile events in London House and brought together influential China and UK high level government officials, including Lord Digby Jones, Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment, Madam Fu Ying, Chinese Ambassador to the UK and Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. NICG’s “zero imperfection” event management skills and its ability to bring together key figures in both China and UK to engage in dialogue turned London House into the major platform for Sino-UK exchange during the 2008 Olympics.
